Berardi has heaped plenty of high praise on his teammate Pablo Hernandez, describing him as the best player he’s ever played with.
When prompted by the Italian outlet, the defender revealed his choice is “currently Hernandez.”
“But it’s another category (the Championship). At Brescia, I had Alino Diamanti who was very strong, but one of the best I played with is certainly Eder when I was at Sampdoria. After my friend Paladino, obviously.”
After arriving at Elland Road from Serie A side Sampdoria all the way back in the summer of 2014, the 31-year-old has made 150 appearances for United, scoring 2 goals and providing 7 assists in total. This season, the former Swiss international has played in 17 games in the Championship, averaging at least 1 tackle per game, registering 1.2 interceptions, and completing 2.4 clearances on average in the English second tier (via WhoScored).
His current contract with the Yorkshire outfit is set to expire in June and it remains to be seen if the board will extend his agreement or let the £360k-rated star leave in the summer.
As expected, a whole number of Whites supporters gushed over Berardi’s interview on social media, with one fan claiming he is “better than Rio,” and another simply labelling him as “quality.”
